MY PELVIC FLOOR MOT

I had a lovely experience today.

I (finally) went and spoke about my pelvic floor, sex, breathing, posture and running aches and pains with a brillaint and helpful women’s health physio.

She was kind, extremely knowledgeable and gave me lots and lots of peace of mind. Helpful exercises, support and care.

I saw Katie Syrett, if you are based near Manchester and you have any concerns about your postpartum healing. I really recommend booking an appointment with her.

There have been small niggles and worries since having my daughter over five years ago, that I have been carrying around and not really doing anything to sort out (even though I should know much better!).

I’d been listening to the brilliant podcast Why Mum’s Don’t Jump by Helen Ledwick. It got me talking about some of my worries with friends. Those conversations have been eye opening, for most of us, we are not feeling quite right after childbirth.

Things will be different but shouldn’t be causing issues. Maybe sex is feeling painful, maybe you are uncomfortable, maybe going to the toilet is causing you discomfort.

This is your reminder that you deserve the very best of care. If there is anything that is causing you worry or discomfort, there is help out there. Wonderful women, who will take brilliant care of you.

So please make sure you give yourself the very best of care.
